I have a slow drain on my car’s battery. If I leave the car sitting for half a day, the battery will be completely dead. I bought this device and I realized after it came that I’d have to take the battery out every night to recharge the battery, which is very annoying. Fortunately, in many Cadillacs the battery is located under the rear seat and is very easy to access. I live in an apartment and do not have a garage so I can’t run an extension cord to the outlet and then connect it to the charger while the battery stays in the car. Whoever wrote the product description should not have assumed that all buyers are male homeowners. A female renter would most likely have a very difficult time disconnecting the battery and carrying the heavy thing up to their apartment to charge it.

About the charger features, it works very efficiently, but the ‘fully charged’ indicator on mine was faulty. The only way I knew the battery was fully charged is because I wiggled the positive clamp a little and the ‘fully charged’ light would flicker and then shut off. It charges pretty fast no matter what your setting is. It’s also very lightweight. Clamps are small and sturdy. The cords are lengthy enough to prevent touching/spark.

Suggestion: If you are an apartment/condo-dwelling Cadillac owner, just disconnect the positive battery terminal under the rear seat after you use your car to prevent the parasitic drain. Your battery will maintain its charge for weeks of no driving if it’s disconnected. You do not need this product AT ALL. What I did was went ahead and bought the Mighty Mite (5 stars) for MAXIMUM assurance that I won’t be stuck with a dead battery. I’m on my way to the Mighty Mite page to give that product 5 stars.

This is a terrific little battery charger. It has done everything it was advertised to do. I have an old pick-up truck that sits for weeks at a time between uses and I leave the charger connected to ensure that my truck will start. It has every time.

I have only used this about three times, but it is great. I need the automatic shut-off because I am forgetful. It charged a large tractor battery in less than 12 hours. The two amp feature is nice for my lawn mower battery. I have not tried the jump-start feature, but I will this winter. Appears to be well made and should last me the rest of my life.

I’ve been using this charger for years to keep my deep cycle batteries charged and it has done that job well. I’ve also used it on occasion to start a car with a dead battery and

it does that well. I would buy this brand again and recommend it.
