Make sure that you understand what a trickle charger is before you buy this, expecting it to revive a dead battery. This item is quiet, works as advertised, compact, cool to the touch. Instructions were adequate. I use the connection to the cigarette lighter, and it works just great – no hassle with an open hood, etc. I use it on my Porsche, which means that the battery is not directly accessible for any of the other connection options anyway.
A perfect option for someone who doesn’t use the car for a few weeks and needs a “connect and forget” approach to keeping the battery viable.

I’ve had my Duracell D2A Battery Charger/Maintainer for several months now, and it’s worked perfectly on my antique motorcycle. The green light indicates when the battery is on a “floating-charge” maintainance voltage, and I have no qualms about leaving the unit plugged in for long periods.
I used the supplied battery pigtail wires to make a semi-permanent setup, which makes it very easy to plug the battery into the charger without even having to remove the motorcycle seat. This charger also comes with clamp-on wires, and even an automotive 12-volt plug for car batteries.
I can’t vouch for the long term reliability of the Duracell charger, and I certainly wouldn’t leave it outside, as it doesn’t make any claim of being waterproof, but so far I’m delighted with it, and am starting to regret that I didn’t buy two, especially at the sale price that was on Amazon

Got this from amazon for only $10 at Christmas time. Thought I would give it a try. I have a mint condition 1985 Mustang GT that I rarely drive, just sits in the garage, but the radio drains the battery down from not starting it. I plugged this in via the cigarette lighter and it started to charge up the battery. It shuts off when full. Now when i decide to start up the car, it fires right up! This really did the trick!

nice charger. keeps my bike well charged. only thing i don’t like is if i have it plugged into the battery but not AC the green light is on. I like the pigtale has big openings to hook to the battery, and a protective cover for when not charging. For the money I may buy another so I dont have to go back and forth to my lawn mower.

The battery charger works fine but the small print tells you to disconnect the charger when the battery is fully charged. That isn’t what I bought a “Battery Maintainer” for. I wanted to set it and forget it till I needed the vehicle that was being charged. What I ended up doing is putting the charger on a timer and let it charge the battery for 4 hours a day. That kept the charge up to where it would start the car even after sitting for a long period of time.
