I had ordered this battery charger after borrowing one from a friend. It really helped me out of a tough situation and it’s quite versatile. It not only jump starts a battery, but it can trickle charge or recondition one.

I had this same exact one in the vector name. This is a total piece of crap it worked maybe 4x then all i got was 2 error codes either bad connection or bad battery like an error code e04 or f04. Even on batterys i knew was good the dam thing still showed these error codes..”Total piece of crap” Best to stick to non computerized models of battery chargers in my opinion.

If you look carefully at the two graphics on Amazon, you’ll see that the lower one shows a yellow stripe advertising 75A Starting. However the product description text does not mention Starting. I don’t know if that feature was eliminated or just de-emphasized, but it is just as well.
I have the earlier model with the yellow stripe. The 75 Amp starting feature DOES NOT WORK. When I have a battery that just barely turns the engine over, but not fast enough to start it, the 75 Amp start feature on my VEC1095ABD does nothing to help. Nothing.
I still like this charger a lot, though. I can leave it hooked up to a tractor battery all Winter, and it will run once or twice a day to keep it topped off, without hurting it. It does not “float” a charge, but simply turns on occasionally. The fan does not run except when it charges. Come Spring the engine starts right up.
My B&D charger keeps going two tractor batteries, an AGM and two inverter duty emergency deep cycle an AGM batteries thanks to the reliability of constellation energy, and two auto batteries. Currently all my batteries except one of the automobiles are 3 to five years old, yet all are in tip-top shape, thanks to this charger, distilled water and sensible care. Keep your batteries clean, fully charged, and (for the wet cells) at a proper fluid level, and they will give you good service of 5 or more years.
The charger always starts in “Gel” mode because that is the most easily damaged battery type, which needs to be both voltage and current limited. The AGM mode limits peak voltage but still charges safely at the full rated amperage, thanks to the high frequency power converter design. Of course, wet cells like to be charged as fast as possible, and the 25 Amp rating, while well below what your auto Alternator charges at, does recover discharged batteries quickly.
If you can overlook the lack of a Starting feature, I recommend the Black & Decker 25/10/2 Amp Battery Charger.

Bought this to charge a marine battery and didn’t expect to use it much. But I was wrong, courtesy of a balky lawn mower and an aging car. The charger does just what it’s supposed to do and does it well. As a bonus, it’s very light and portable.
Didn’t pay any attention to the quick jump feature when I bought it but it bailed me out recently when I left the lights on in the car and killed the battery. Attached the cables, charged it up, the car turned over and I was out the driveway.

I liked it very much. It does all that things that I want it to do and some of the things I didn’t think of. It is well build and easy to understand. The quick start is great and the slow charge is a nice feature. I would buy it again.
